Our Support Staff
Invisalign Teen in Lloydminster
Invisalign Teen delivers everything the standard Invisalign system does, with a few features built specifically for teenagers and their still-developing mouths.
Benefits of Invisalign Teen:
- Blue dot wear indicator — a small indicator on each aligner fades with wear, so you and your teen can both see whether the aligners are actually being worn for the required hours.
- Replacement aligners included — teens lose things. Multiple replacements are built into the treatment, so a misplaced aligner doesn’t derail the plan or the budget.
- Designed for growing jaws — eruption tabs leave room for permanent teeth still coming in, meaning treatment can start without waiting for every adult tooth to arrive.
Comes out for sports and band — removable for mouthguards, wind instruments, and grad photos.
Wondering if your teen is a candidate? Book a consultation at our Lloydminster clinic and we’ll tell you honestly whether Invisalign or braces is the better fit for their case.
Invisalign for Adults in Lloydminster
Straightening teeth and correcting a bite can take anywhere from a few months to a couple of years depending on the severity of the misalignment. With Invisalign, none of that time has to be spent hiding your smile.
Benefits of Invisalign for Adults:
- Discreet — clear, removable aligners that most people won’t notice across a boardroom table.
- Custom-planned with the iTero Element® scanner — a fast, precise 3D digital scan maps your treatment from day one, and lets you preview your projected result before you start.
- Comfortable — smooth SmartTrack plastic with no brackets or wires to irritate cheeks and gums.
- Convenient — take them out to eat, brush, and floss normally. Oral hygiene stays simple throughout treatment.
Almost anything that can be treated with braces can be treated with Invisalign. If you passed on orthodontics as a teenager, it is very much not too late.
Surgical Orthodontics
Some cases involve more than tooth position. When the upper and lower jaws don’t meet correctly with issues such as skeletal discrepancies, significant jaw misalignment, or facial asymmetry, braces alone can’t correct the underlying structure.
For these patients, we combine orthodontic treatment with corrective jaw surgery, partnering with experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Dr. Young manages the orthodontic phases before and after surgery, and our team coordinates the whole sequence so you’re never left figuring out the next step yourself. The result is improved bite function, better facial balance, and a stable long-term outcome.
We’ll walk you through the process in plain language at your consultation, including timelines, what recovery actually looks like, and what your insurance is likely to cover.
Early Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontic treatment can begin as early as age seven. By that age, most children have a mix of baby and permanent teeth, which is exactly when an orthodontist can spot developing problems crowding, crossbites, overbites, underbites, and jaw growth issues, while there’s still room to guide them.
Getting a head start matters. Early intervention can create space for permanent teeth to come in properly, guide jaw growth, and in many cases reduce or eliminate the need for tooth extractions or jaw surgery down the road. Waiting until all the adult teeth are in can sometimes lead to a longer, more complex, and more expensive course of treatment.
We work with children and youth every day, and our team knows how to make a first orthodontic visit genuinely low-stress. No pressure, and no scare tactics. If your child doesn’t need treatment yet, we’ll tell you that and simply keep an eye on things.
High-Tech Metal and Ceramic Braces in Lloydminster
Braces remain the most versatile orthodontic treatment available, and modern systems bear very little resemblance to the bulky hardware of twenty years ago. Dr. Young treats with the most current systems from American Orthodontics®.
Metal Braces
- Small, high-precision brackets with miniature doors for faster, more comfortable wire changes
- Fewer elastics and shorter chair time at adjustment appointments
Durable and effective for the full range of orthodontic issues, including complex cases
Ceramic Braces
- Clear or tooth-coloured brackets for a far less noticeable appearance
- Made from a specialized ceramic that resists staining
The same clinical effectiveness as metal, popular with older teens and adults
Not sure which is right for you? Book a consultation and we’ll compare your options side by side, including cost.
Retainers
Finishing treatment isn’t the end of the job. Teeth naturally drift over time, and a retainer is what protects the result you just spent months or years achieving.
We make custom retainers on-site, and our in-house lab means we can often turn a custom retainer around in a single day – a genuine advantage if yours breaks or goes missing. You’ll choose between clear retainers, which are virtually invisible and often the most convenient choice, and traditional wire retainers, which are reserved for the most severe cases. Dr. Young will recommend the option best suited to your case.
Worn consistently and cared for properly, a retainer is a very small investment that preserves a straight smile for decades.
Pricing, Financing & Insurance
Cost is the first question most patients have, and we’d rather answer it early than at the end of a long appointment.
Our pricing is competitive and you’ll receive a clear written estimate before treatment begins, no surprises partway through. We offer 0% interest in-house financing and extended monthly payment schedules designed to fit an ordinary household budget.
If you have orthodontic coverage through a dental plan, our financial coordinator will help you get the most out of it, including handling pre-authorization forms and helping you learn how to submit claims.
Serving Lloydminster and the Surrounding Area
Our Lloydminster clinic is the main hub for Edge Orthodontics, and we welcome patients from across the border region on both the Saskatchewan and Alberta sides including Vermilion, Kitscoty, Marwayne, Maidstone, Lashburn, Marshall, Paradise Hill, Neilburg, Dewberry, Blackfoot, Onion Lake, Wainwright, and beyond.
We know many of our families are driving in, so we schedule with that in mind: longer appointment blocks where possible, and coordinated visits for siblings so one trip covers everyone.
If Lloydminster isn’t your closest option, we also see patients at our Camrose, Cold Lake, and Martensville locations.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are your office hours?
Our Lloydminster clinic is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We’re closed Friday through Sunday.
How do I book an appointment?
Call us at (306) 825-8577 or use our online appointment request form. No referral is needed. You can book a consultation with an orthodontist directly.
Do you offer financing options?
Yes. We offer 0% interest in-house financing and flexible monthly payment plans, and you’ll get a clear written estimate before any treatment begins. Our financial coordinator will also help you maximize your dental insurance benefits, including pre-authorizations and claim submissions.
Where exactly are you located, and is there parking?
We’re at 2909 50 Ave, Lloydminster, SK S9V 0N7, on the Saskatchewan side of the city. There’s free on-site parking and ground-floor accessible entry.
Do I need a referral from my dentist?
No. You can book directly with us at any of our locations, in either Saskatchewan or Alberta. If your dentist would like to refer you, they can use our referral form.
At what age should my child first see an orthodontist?
Age seven is the standard recommendation. Most children have a mix of baby and permanent teeth by then, which lets us identify developing bite or jaw issues early. An early evaluation doesn’t mean treatment starts immediately, often we simply monitor growth until the right moment.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Most braces and Invisalign cases run 12 to 24 months, depending on complexity. Early treatment phases are usually shorter. We’ll give you a realistic estimated timeline at your consultation.
